SERVING OUR RESIDENTS

HOME IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME: SAFER, BETTER HOMES

The Home Improvement Programme (HIP) for Sunshine precinct commenced in 2020. The HIP aims to address common problems in ageing flats and spruce up your living environment. Essential Improvements include the replacement of pipe sockets with new clothes drying racks, as well as the reparation of spalling concrete. Households that have signed up for the Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE) package can look forward to a more elderly-friendly home. Grab bars and ramps can be installed in your homes under this scheme.

NEW $25K COMMUNITY GARDEN

We hope you have been enjoying the community garden at Block 531. The garden is a space for the gardening enthusiasts among us to hone their skills and meet like-minded neighbours.

MONTHLY BREAKFAST, MONTHLY BONDING

Every month residents and I get together to enjoy a hearty breakfast. I always have a good time speaking to and getting to know residents better. Residents get to mingle with their neighbours and make new friends. Do come by and join us for our next breakfast gathering!

We are also happy to share that the lift upgrading project at Block 375 has been completed. Residents now have direct lift access to every floor.

NEW AND UPGRADED FITNESS CORNER

We've built a 3-Generation (3G) Fitness Corner at Block 532. The fitness corner has exercise equipment suitable for all ages – from seniors to children. Now you can keep fit with the whole family!

The Adult Fitness Corner and the Senior Citizen Fitness Corner at Block 525 have been upgraded. We hope you’ve been enjoying the new exercise equipment.

COVERED LINKWAYS

As part of LTA’s Walk2Ride programme, a covered linkway was constructed between Bukit Gombak MRT Station and Block 524. To shield commuters from the elements, a shelter has also been built above the pedestrian crossing that leads to Bukit Gombak MRT Station. More linkways have also been constructed, including one connecting Block 374 and The Madeira condominium complex as well as one along Bukit Batok West Avenue 5 towards Block 531.

To provide even more sheltered convenience, we have built covered linkways between Blocks 526 and 527, Blocks 527 and 528, Blocks 526 and 531 as well as Blocks 532 and 536. Blocks 523, 524 and 525 are also now connected by linkways.

STAYING SHELTERED

A sheltered linkway with a ramp was introduced to the link bridge at Block 524 Bukit Batok Street 52. This makes the town centre more accessible for all.

REDUCING NOISE FROM PASSING TRAINS

LTA will be erecting noise barriers along elevated railway sections of the North-South and EastWest Lines, stretching from Bukit Batok Street 31 to Bukit Batok West Avenue 5. It is expected to reduce noise levels from passing trains by about 5 to 10 decibels. Installation is expected to be completed by 2020.

SURFACE CAR PARK IMPROVEMENT WORKS

Residents of Blocks 523 to 525 and 526 to 534 can look forward to improved surface car parks this year! Improvement works include the resurfacing of the driveway, repainting of traffic markings and lot numberings, reconstruction of car park drains and parking lots as well as the replacement of lamp posts, lightings and underground cables. These improvements aim to enhance the safety and parking experience of residents and visitors.
