SERVING OUR RESIDENTS

BRINGING FREE AEDS TO PHOENIX ESTATE & HILLSTA

As part of our commitment to making Bukit Gombak a heart-safe community, we have installed automated external defibrillators (AEDs) at Phoenix Estate and Hillsta condominium! To arm residents with life-saving knowledge and skills, we conducted free certified CPR and AED training for residents of Hillsta on Safety & Security Day. In the event of a cardiac arrest, it is important to administer CPR as soon as possible. A victim’s chance of survival decreases by 10% for every minute of treatment delay. Having an AED nearby and arming ourselves with the appropriate skills can help save the lives of our loved ones, friends and neighbours. We hope having an AED within reach will provide all residents with a peace of mind.

NATIONAL DAY OBSERVANCE CEREMONY

Over 1,200 Bukit Gombak residents gathered on 9th August this year to celebrate National Day. Students from Hillgrove Secondary School’s Band, Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade, as well as students from Lianhua Primary School’s Chinese Dance team, joined us for the celebration.

CELEBRATING MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL

Residents of all ages gathered to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival on 7th September 2019. Participants bonded over dinner, performances and even a pomelo peeling competition. The young ones also had fun roaming around the neighbourhood with lanterns of all shapes and colours. What a fun way to spend the September school holiday!

MERDEKA GENERATION APPRECIATION CEREMONY & FAMILY CARNIVAL 2019

Residents of Phoenix Estate were treated to a day of fun at the Merdeka Generation Appreciation Ceremony and Family Carnival 2019. Families enjoyed performances by Happy Fei Fei as well as delicious food. Participants were even given a special memorabilia: a custom-made ez-link card featuring two historic events that happened in Bukit Gombak. Seniors also got a chance to learn about the benefits of the Merdeka Generation Package.

IMPROVING YOUR ESTATE

BOOSTING CONNECTIVITY: BUS 976

Bus Service 976 was launched last year to provide residents with more transport options. The fullday trunk bus service is an upgrade from the now defunct peak-hour bus service BPS1. This new service has enhanced bus connectivity for residents travelling to key landmarks in Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang, such as Lot One Shoppers’ Mall. It also provides an alternative mode of travel for those using the Bukit Panjang LRT Line.

INSTALLATION OF LIFTS AT PEDESTRIAN OVERHEAD BRIDGE

We worked with LTA to install elevators at the overhead bridge located in front of Phoenix LRT station. Residents and commuters with mobility issues, such as senior citizens and persons with disabilities, can now use the overhead bridge with ease.

NEW & IMPROVED PHOENIX PARK

Phoenix Park has been given a face-lift! The drainage, footpaths, exercise plaza and activity area have been repaved and upgraded. We hope you’ve been enjoying these improvements!

UPDATE OF THE BPLRT

In order to improve our transport system’s resilience, renewal works for the Bukit Panjang LRT Line (BPLRT) were conducted. They include the replacement of the existing signalling system with a Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling system, the replacement of 19 Light Rapid Vehicles (LRVs) with new and improved vehicles, the upgrading of 13 LRVs with the new CBTC signalling system and the replacement of the power rail with an enhanced version.
