REFURBISHED HOMES
Residents of Blocks 501 to 511 at Bukit Batok Street 52 had their homes upgraded under the Home Improvement Programme (HIP) and Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE) initiative. The HIP addresses common maintenance issues in ageing flats so that residents can live in safer, more comfortable homes. Their blocks were also given a fresh new coat of paint.
UPGRADED COMMUNITY GARDEN & SENIOR CITIZEN CORNER
The community garden at Block 506 received an upgrade, we hope the avid gardeners in our community have been enjoying it. The study corner at Block 503 has also been turned into a senior citizen corner for the elderly to mingle and hold community activities.
MONTHLY BREAKFAST, MONTHLY BONDING
Every month residents and I get together to enjoy a hearty breakfast. I always have a good time getting to know residents better. Residents get to mingle with their neighbours and make new friends. We also invite speakers from various organisations, such as SkillsFuture, to provide useful tips to residents during the gathering. That means you can enjoy a meal and learn something new. Do come by and join us for our next breakfast gathering!
IMPROVING YOUR ESTATE
ENHANCED SCHOOL ZONE
To enhance road safety for students, we have introduced a new traffic sign at Bukit Batok Street 52. This sign warns motorists that they are entering an Enhanced School Zone (ESZ) and alerts them to slow down to a maximum speed of 40 km/h when the lights flash.
$480K MAJOR RE-ROOFING PROJECT
Regular checks and repairs to the roofs of our HDB Blocks are essential to prevent leakage and storm damage. Roofs were repaired and spruced up under this major re-roofing project.
EXTENSIVE LINKWAY CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS AMOUNTING TO $185K
We’ve also added several covered linkways so that you can get to where you need to be, rain or shine. They are located between Blocks 501 and 504 as well as Blocks 503 and 505 at Bukit Batok Street 52. The total costs for their construction are $108,000 and $77,000 respectively. Linkways connecting Blocks 504 and 506 at Bukit Batok Street 52 have also been completed.
SHELTERED WALKWAY
Say goodbye to walking in the rain and under the hot sun. Residents can get around in comfort with the completed sheltered walkway connecting Block 503 Bukit Batok Street 52 to Bukit Batok Central.
UPGRADED SENIOR CITIZEN FITNESS CORNER
In an effort to encourage residents to lead an active lifestyle, we have upgraded the senior citizen fitness corner at Block 510 Bukit Batok Street 52. Residents living in that area can enhance their daily workouts with brand new exercising equipment.
