HOME IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME (HIP)
The HIP is a programme dedicated to the upkeep of our estates. The HIP, along with improvements made under the Enhancement for Active Seniors (EASE) scheme, seeks to enhance the conditions and elderly-friendliness of ageing flats. We are happy to share that the upgrading works for Blocks 512 to 514 and Blocks 535 to 542 at Bukit Batok Streets 51 and 52 were completed last year. The external facade of these blocks were also refreshed.
KEEPING FIT AT REN-CI
Ren Ci-Bukit Gombak Keep FIT Centre was launched at Ren Ci @ Bukit Batok Street 52 on 27th December 2015. As part of the special arrangement with Ren Ci, residents of Bukit Gombak enjoy complimentary usage of the facilities at the Keep FIT Centre. Non-residents will have to pay a fee of $2. We have received positive feedback from residents; many are making use of the fitness facility to keep fit.
MONTHLY BREAKFAST, MONTHLY BONDING
Every month residents and I get together to enjoy a hearty breakfast. I always have a good time getting to know residents better. Residents get to mingle with their neighbours and make new friends. We also invite speakers from various organisations, such as SkillsFuture, to provide useful tips to residents during the gathering. That means you can enjoy a meal and learn something new. Do come by and join us for our next breakfast gathering!
CONSTRUCTION OF LINKWAYS
We worked with Chua Chu Kang Town Council to construct covered linkways between Blocks 512 and 513 as well as Blocks 534 and 535. A linkway and signalised pedestrian crossing connecting Bukit Gombak MRT Station to Block 524 at Bukit Batok East Avenue 5 were also built. As part of LTA’s Walk2Ride programme, covered linkways were added between Blocks 513 and 541, Blocks 533 and 536 as well as Block
541 and Bus Stop 43809. Another linkway was constructed along Bukit Batok Street 52, linking Guilin View to Block 513. Now residents can stay sheltered from the elements as they travel around the neighbourhood.
To provide residents with a designated convenient location to pick up and drop off family and friends, we dedicated a total of $115K to the construction of two drop-off porches at Blocks 537 and 539.

IMPROVING YOUR ESTATE
NOISE BARRIERS FOR A QUIETER NEIGHBOURHOOD
Good news for residents of Guilin: LTA will be erecting noise barriers along elevated railway sections of the North-South and East-West Lines. These barriers will stretch from Bukit Batok Street 31 to Bukit Batok West Avenue 5 and reduce noise levels from passing trains by about 5 to 10 decibels. Installation is expected to be completed by 2020.
