REACH SENIOR CENTRE
We partnered with REACH Community Services to open REACH Senior Centre, one of the biggest Senior Activity Centres, at Block 377A. The centre aims to provide support for lonely and vulnerable seniors, encourage active in-place ageing as well as provide a platform for senior volunteerism. It will offer a range of programmes and activities for seniors, such as culinary and art workshops. The centre will also house the REACH Community Café, a cafe catered to seniors run by senior volunteers. Customers do not have to pay for food but are encouraged to donate a reasonable amount to support the programme. The senior centre also has plans to encourage young Singaporeans to participate in engagement activities with seniors. Do drop by!
IMPROVING YOUR ESTATE
NOISE BARRIERS: A MORE PEACEFUL NEIGHBOURHOOD
To reduce noise levels generated by passing trains, LTA will be erecting noise barriers along elevated railway sections of the North-South and East-West Lines. They will stretch from Bukit Batok Street 31 to Bukit Batok West Avenue 5. Installation is expected to be completed this year and will reduce noise levels by about 5 to 10 decibels.
